Scholarship Description:

The laboratory of Dr. Susie Dai at the University of Missouri is inviting applications for a postdoctoral researcher position. This role is part of the innovative Carbon Utilization Redesign for Biomanufacturing (CURB) Engineering Research Center (ERC), emphasizing sustainable biomanufacturing and remediation.

Research Focus:

  • Enzymatic Cassette Reaction Design for Carbon Utilization: Developing synthetic biology platforms to transform carbon feedstocks into valuable bioproducts through enzymatic reactions. The work integrates protein engineering, metabolic pathway design, and microbial fermentation strategies.

Collaboration Opportunities:
The position offers unique interdisciplinary collaboration with leading researchers from Washington University in St. Louis, the University of Delaware, and Texas A&M University. The successful candidate will be co-mentored by Dr. Susie Dai and Dr. Joshua Yuan.

  • Applicants should have a strong publication record and relevant experience in areas such as biochemistry, protein design, microbial fermentation, synthetic biology, metabolic engineering, and enzyme engineering. We seek highly motivated and productive scientists with demonstrated teamwork capacity and collaborative skills.
