Scholarship Description:
Dr. Chun-Jun Guo is the principal investigator of the research group. She graduated with a degree in Pharmacy from Fudan University in 2009 and later pursued her Ph.D. at the University of Southern California, earning her degree in 2015. After her Ph.D., she conducted postdoctoral research at UCSF and Stanford University, focusing on small molecules released by gut microbes and their mechanisms of action.
At the end of 2018, Dr. Guo joined Weill Cornell Medicine as a Tenure-Track Associate Professor and is now leading her own research program.
Her lab has received support from the NIH Director’s New Innovator Award, the Transformative Research Award, and multiple NIH R01 grants. The research primarily focuses on using CRISPR gene editing technology to modify gut microbiota, exploring the biological activities of small molecules released by microbes and their effects on host physiological functions. In recent years, the team has published numerous papers in top international journals such as Cell, Science, Nature, Cell Host & Microbe, Nature Communications, JACS, and PNAS, gaining widespread recognition for their work. For specific publication details, please refer to:
The lab is committed to advancing research in gut microbiota and host interactions and looks forward to collaborating with domestic and international peers. Young scholars and students interested in this field are welcome to join and explore the mysteries of the microbial world together!
Available Subjects:
- Gut microbiota-host interactions.
Eligibility criteria:
- Postdoctoral candidates should have a background in microbial gene editing, gut microbiota, microbial metabolism, or bioinformatics. Experience with mass spectrometry is preferred.
